Stones River

The artwork portrays the final phase of the Battle of Stones River on Jan. 2, 1863 outside Murfreesboro, TN. The Federal Regiment of the 78th PA are shown capturing the Confederate standard of the 26th TN and a portion of a Confederate Battery. This is a new painting of an old subject of mine. I did a print around 1990 titled “Hand to Hand” which featured the same subject.
